The 'Pitching Triple Crown winners' quiz

The 2026 Detroit Tigers have gotten off to a tough start, sitting 12 games under .500 and in fourth place in the American League Central. But fans finally got some news to be happy about on Sunday, with two-time defending Cy Young-winner Tarik Skubal making his first rehab start in the Minor Leagues.

The seven-year veteran pitched five scoreless innings for the High-A West Michigan Whitecaps, allowing two hits and striking out six batters on 54 pitches in his first appearance since getting elbow surgery in May. While it sounds like he still has a ways to go before returning to an MLB mound, the impending free agent is still going to be one of the biggest names discussed as the trade deadline approaches.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Skubal has been one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball over the past two seasons before getting injured in 2026, combining for 469 strikeouts in 387 1/3 innings and winning the pitching triple crown in 2024. With that being said, how many of the pitching Triple Crown winners can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
