The 'Youngest 45-HR MLB seasons' quiz

Tampa Bay Rays slugger Junior Caminero made his second-consecutive All-Star game this season, but his 2026 Midsummer Classic appearance almost resulted in disaster. 

The 22 year old with 28 RBIs at the All-Star break took a pitch off the hand from St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Riley O’Brien in the third inning. But after the game, he told ESPN’s Jose Castillo he should be good to go when the first-place Rays return to action on July 17.

“I felt a little scared. I said ‘Wow, I think something’s broken,’” he said. 

“But, thank God, everything is fine. A little sore, but nothing. Ready for Friday.”

Caminero has been massive for Tampa Bay this year, not only replicating his power from 2025 but also raising his batting average from .264 to .279 so far in 2026.
