The Detroit Tigers enter the offseason in search of a new manager after Ron Gardenhire retired last month due to health complications.
While there likely are a number of suitable candidates for the position, Tigers general manager Al Avila revealed that both Alex Cora and A.J. Hinch will be considered for the manager position despite their past history with the Houston Astros.

Both Hinch and Cora were suspended by Major League Baseball for their involvement in the Astros' 2017 cheating scandal. They also lost their jobs with their respective clubs when the news broke — Hinch with the Astros and Cora with the Boston Red Sox.
Hinch, a former catcher, appeared in 27 games for the Tigers in 2003. The 46-year-old owns a 570-452 record as a manager with the Astros and Arizona Diamondbacks. He won the World Series in 2017.
Cora earned a 192-132 record in two seasons as Boston's manager. He won a World Series with the team during his first season in 2018.
