There are 11 games on the menu this Thursday in the MLB, offering plenty of exciting options for home run props. Several heavyweight battles will reach a conclusion this week.
The Philadelphia Phillies wind down their trip to the Boston Red Sox. The Los Angeles Dodgers hope to save the homestand against the San Francisco Giants. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Braves resume their series against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Alex Bregman swung a hot bat in April, but he hit only one home run as his power numbers continue trending downward. The 32-year-old only has four of them this MLB season. Nevertheless, Bregman is on a four-game hitting streak, getting his first multi-hit game of the month on Wednesday and a homer the previous night.
Adolis Garcia has not really provided the offensive boost to the Philadelphia Phillies lineup that he is capable of. Moreover, he is struggling at the plate, batting 8-43 in 11 MLB games this month with only a couple of extra-base hits. One of those was a home run, proving that he can still clear the park in the middle of a slump.
Colson Montgomery is carrying on from his excellent rookie campaign with the Chicago White Sox last year. The 24-year-old shortstop has been very consistent at the plate, even though his production has dipped a tad from last month. Still, he is batting 9-41 in May, with six extra-base hits, including three home runs.
Jordan Walker is arguably one of the most improved players in the MLB this year. The St. Louis Cardinals outfielder leads the team with 2.5 bWAR aside from a host of batting categories. While his home run spree from last month has subsided, he is a more productive hitter at the plate this month. With only two home runs in May, Walker should get the next one very soon
Yordan Alvarez will be a frontrunner for the American League MVP if he stays healthy and keeps up this offensive production for the rest of the MLB season. But just like the Houston Astros, the left-handed slugger is going through a big slump right now. But with only one home run so far in May, it is hard to bet against him adding to his tally in the immediate future.
