The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Chicago White Sox on the road last night, 6-1, in a rain-shortened contest. It was Toronto’s 10th straight win. That is one win shy of the franchise record. Toronto had multiple 11-game winning streaks during the 2015 season.
Toronto’s winning began with a victory against the Boston Red Sox. They had back-to-back three-game sweeps over the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels before winning the first two games of their series against the White Sox. Will the Toronto Blue Jays keep winning games?

Toronto’s winning streak has allowed them to overtake the New York Yankees for the American League East lead. The Blue Jays have been led by a strong offense. They are second in the league in batting average , 15th in home runs, and ninth in runs scored. Catcher Alejandro Kirk is ninth in the league in batting average. Otherwise, it has been a committee-like approach this season for Toronto on offense.
Toronto’s pitching staff has not been good. They are 21st in team ERA, 14th in opposing batting average, and 17th in WHIP. Closer Jeff Hoffman is fourth in the league in saves. The Blue Jays must get better production on the mound for the team to reach its full potential.
The Toronto Blue Jays will look to tie a franchise record with another win this afternoon against the Chicago White Sox. If the Blue Jays can continue playing this well, no team will want to face them this summer.
