Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider spoke to the media regarding Max Scherzer's first start with the team and made some interesting comments about his behavior.
Scherzer made his first start for the Blue Jays two days ago against the St Louis Cardinals and had a solid performance as he finished with four strikeouts and only one earned run in two innings pitched.
Most athletes are known for being quite superstitious, with hockey goalies and MLB pitchers being at the top of the list with their weird way of going about things, and it looks like Scherzer is no different.
After Scherzer's first game with the Blue Jays, manager John Schneider stated the team realized that he is not a fan of giving high-fives when returning to the dugout in between innings.
This clearly has nothing to do with Scherzer not liking his teammates but it is clearly just a superstition that when he is in the zone and pitching, he likes to remain focused and not hand out any high=fives.
Well, whatever Scherzer's superstitions are, they clearly work, as he is one of the best pitchers in the MLB over the past 20 years.
