Trevor Bauer's free-agency decision came down to the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets. He ended up signing a three-year, $102 million deal with the Dodgers.
Before he agreed to a deal with the Dodgers, the Mets were considered the favorite to land Bauer. The National League Cy Young winner even posted Mets merchandise to his official website, making fans think he was headed to New York.
On Sunday, Bauer apologized to Mets fans for a puzzling end to his free agency. He also announced $10,000 donations to four New York-based nonprofits in his apology.

Although the Mets lost out on Bauer, they've still had a tremendous winter. Steven Cohen's team added Francisco Lindor, James McCann, Carlos Carrasco, Albert Almora Jr. and Aaron Loup.
The Dodgers, meanwhile, will look to defend their World Series title with a flame-throwing rotation that includes Bauer, Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, Julio Urias and David Price.
