Twins Acquire Dean Kremer from The Orioles

The move to add Kremer is perhaps to bolster the starting rotation, with Minnesota's starting staff already consisting of All-Star Joe Ryan, Bailey Ober and Taj Bradley at the top of their staff.

The Twins rotation, though, had also lost Pablo López, Mick Abel and David Festa to season-ending injuries.

As for Kremer, he has spent his entire seven-year career with the Twins. The righty began this season in Triple-A Norfolk and was placed on the injured list on April 23 with a right quad strain.

In just seven starts this year, Kremer is 1-4 with a 6.50 ERA, 38 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.36 in 36 innings pitched. In spite of his struggles, the Twins are showing that they're going for it this season with this latest move, along with acquiring Minter.

Minnesota entered 2026 with low expectations after selling off some major pieces at last year's trade deadline and finishing the 2025 campaign 70-92. However, this year has been a different story. The Twins begin Saturday tied with the Cleveland Guardians for the third and final Wild Card spot in the American League.

The American League Central crown is also up for grabs for the Twins, as they're just three games behind the Chicago White Sox for first place in the division.

The MLB trade deadline is now just two days away, and it remains unclear whether the Twins will make more significant moves by then.
