The 2024 season for the Minnesota Twins ended up as a disappointment thanks to an epic collapse over the final six weeks of the season. However, there were some promising developments for the club’s future.
MLB Pipeline has included the Twins as one of the organizations with the most-improved farm systems this year.
The outlet didn’t rank the clubs but listed the Twins alongside the Red Sox, White Sox, Guardians, Rockies, Tigers, Marlins, Mariners and Rays for most-improved systems in 2024.
For Minnesota, MLB Pipeline cited 2023 first-round pick Walker Jenkins’ strong season and rise to Double-A Wichita, the growth of Luke Keaschall, David Festa and Zebby Matthews — the latter two made it to the big leagues late in the season — and the career-high workload for Marco Raya as reasons for the Twins to be excited. Additionally, the club still has “the toolsy” Emmanuel Rodriguez, who MLB Pipeline considers a top-30 prospect in the game, several other pitching prospects nearing the bigs, and nine new players added to the team’s top-30 prospects list this season.
With a strong mix of high-level talent and a big group of near-MLB-ready prospects, Minnesota's future is close to becoming the present. Expect to see several more debuts at Target Field in 2025.
