The Minnesota Twins are turning to their farm system coming off of a tight series win against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.

The Twins officially announced on Monday morning the promotion of outfielder Kyler Fedko.

Fedko was drafted by the Twins in the 12th round of the 2021 MLB Draft. He earned a promotion to Triple-A St. Paul late last season.

In 58 games with the St. Paul Saints to start the 2026 season, the 26-year-old has crushed. Fedko is slashing .286/.372/.578, good for a 9.50 OPS, with 15 home runs, 11 doubles and 45 RBIs in 206 AB.

While not ranked among the Twins top 30 prospects, Fedko will still be able to make an impact on the major league roster.

Fedko is a very diverse outfielder how has experience at all three positions, as well as a small sample at first base.

He will likely fill into a platoon corner outfield role where he will be receiving most of his playing time against left-handed pitching. Against left-handers this year, Fedko is posting a 1.262 OPS with a whopping .776 Slugging Percentage. Surprisingly, only five of his 15 home runs come against a southpaw.

While he is solid against right-handers, holding a .823 OPS, the Twins will likely keep him from an everyday role.

As a corresponding move, the Twins have designated infielder Orlando Arcia for release or assignment. Arcia has struggled to find his footing at the plate since his great 2023 season with the Atlanta Braves which saw him post a .741 OPS with 17 home runs.

Arcia signed a minor league contract with the Twins organization this past offseason before being called up to the major league team on May 19. In 19 games for the Twins, Arcia hit .271/.300/.354 with one home run and 2 RBIs. Due to his normally stellar defense at shortstop, Arcia will likely earn another chance to compete with another team.

Following a 9-7 record to start the season, the Twins have struggled to stay afloat. The currently third place of the American League Central division with a 33-40 record. Despite being seven games under the .500 mark, the Twins remain three games out of a playoff spot because of a struggling American League this season.

If Fedko can give the twins the production they need out of a corner outfield spot, they may be able to fight for a chance to play in October.

Fedko makes his major league debut as the Twins face the Texas Rangers Monday night.
