Twins make decision on manager Rocco Baldelli

The Minnesota Twins suffered a devastating collapse to end the 2024 season, but it will not cost manager Rocco Baldelli his job.

Twins president Derek Falvey asserted Sunday that Baldelli will return as manager for the 2025 season despite how the 2024 campaign ended. Falvey did not rule out other changes to the coaching staff, but made clear that Baldelli “is my manager.”

Baldelli is wrapping up his sixth season as the Twins’ manager. He has three playoff appearances to his name, including a win in the AL wild-card series last season. Those certainly count in his favor. There are real concerns, however, after the Twins went from 70-53 at the end of play on Aug. 17 to out of the playoffs completely by going 12-26 down the stretch. It was not a great look for Baldelli when one of his most important veterans was not exactly giving maximum effort down the stretch, either.

Baldelli has a career record of 440-384 with one game left this season.
