The Minnesota Twins have been the hottest team in baseball as they have been riding an 11-game win streak.
It's been a tough couple of games for the Twins, however, as some crucial injuries have resulted in players missing time.
After a collision between shortstop Carlos Correa and outfielder Byron Buxton resulted in both players missing the series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers,
As we wait for the update on Buxton, the Twins placed Correa on the seven-day concussion injured list on Friday afternoon.
The injuries have been piling up for the Twins, and another key player went down at the beginning of Minnesota's matchup with the Brewers.
Third baseman Willi Castro had just been activated from the injured list earlier in the month, but he faced an unfortunate knee injury early in their game.
In the top of the first inning against the Brewers, Castro was taking an at-bat and hit a foul ball straight into his right knee.
‼️ SCARY MOMENT! ‼️

Castro tried to continue playing in the game, but the Twins eventually made him exit.
His injury caused a shift in their defense, moving Kody Clemens to the position Castro was playing in left field.
This stir-up would then lead to the MLB debut of 30-year-old infielder Ryan Fitzgerald.
Willi Castro, who earlier fouled a pitch off his right knee, exited the game. Ryan Fitzgerald is making his #MLB debut at second base and Kody Clemens shifts to LF. Gotta pull out all the stops for the Molly Cup. #MNTwins #ThisIsMyCrew

Fitzgerald was called up by the Twins after the sudden injury of Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton on Thursday.
He went undrafted out of the University of Creighton in 2016 and has been battling his way through the minors since.
His versatile defense, mixed with his electric start to the 2025 season, made the Twins call him up from Triple-A St. Paul.
In the 35 games he's played in the minors this year, Fitzgerald has a batting average of .328, a slugging percentage of .434, and a .775 OPS while hitting four home runs and 21 RBIs for the St. Paul Saints.
Although it was an unfortunate series of events before Ryan Fitzgerald made his debut, he entered the game at second base for the Twins.
