UNLV baseball head coach Nick Garritano has announced the appointment of Bryan Gidge as Assistant Coach and Pitching Coach. Gidge brings valuable college baseball experience to the Rebels’ staff.
Gidge joins the Rebels following his tenure on Garritano’s staff at the College of Southern Nevada, where he served since 2011. He has a strong background in college baseball as a veteran educator and coach in Southern Nevada, he has collaborated with Garritano since 2002 and has contributed significantly to the development of numerous student-athletes.
Gidge has accumulated 17 years of experience as an educator in the Clark County School District, providing him with substantial expertise both on and off the field. He earned a bachelor’s degree in fitness management from UNLV and a master’s degree in teaching from Grand Canyon University, further enhancing his college baseball credentials.
Gidge competed for two seasons at Yakima Valley Community College prior to transferring to UNLV, where he pitched for the Hustlin’ Rebels during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. This college baseball journey shaped his career. He was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 33rd round of the 1998 MLB Draft. Originally from Yakima, Washington, Gidge resides with his wife, Jenny, and their two daughters, Mckenzie and Averi.
