The Toronto Blue Jays have been active early in MLB free agency, bolstering their pitching staff with both depth and talent. Yet their work is not finished, as they continue to search for another star to pair at the top of the lineup alongside first basemanVladimir Guerrero Jr.

Toronto remains interested in a reunion with Bo Bichette, a fan favorite who has spent his entire seven-year career with the organization, while staying engaged on Kyle Tucker, widely regarded as the best free agent still available.

The Blue Jays already boast a talented lineup featuring Guerrero, who is firmly established as one of the top hitters in baseball. Last season, Guerrero posted a .292 batting average, a .381 on-base percentage, an .848 OPS, 23 home runs and 84 RBIs across 156 games.

The 26-year-old right-handed slugger elevated his play in the MLB playoffs, serving as the driving force behind Toronto’s run to the World Series.

Guerrero’s future with the Blue Jays is secured. He signed a 14-year, $500 million contract extension in April, the largest in franchise history.

As the Blue Jays front office continues to make moves around Guerrero, he has taken matters into his own hands.

Kyle Tucker, who played for the Chicago Cubs last season, posted a video this offseason showing himself training and staying in shape as he weighs which organization to sign with for the 2026 season. In the comment section, Guerrero subtly left a message that read, “.”

The comment quickly gained traction and was seen by many as Guerrero’s pitch for Tucker to join Toronto.

Blue Jays Eye Historic Offseason With Tucker and Bichette in Play

This comes after a report from ESPN’s Jeff Passan indicating the Blue Jays may have the flexibility to sign both Tucker and Bichette, one of Guerrero’s closest teammates since he debuted. While it was long anticipated that Toronto did not have the payroll flexibility to sign both, that outlook has shifted.

“The Blue Jays have been aggressive this offseason. You know they are going to get at least one of the big bats out there and could go for the Tucker and Bichette daily double. If they do that, they are going to go into next season, no question, as the favorites in the American League,” Passan reported Wednesday.

If Toronto lands even one of those stars, the future looks incredibly bright. This offseason could go down as the best in franchise history, positioning the Blue Jays to make another deep run and potentially return to the World Series next year.
