Vladimir Guerrero Jr. sets Blue Jays record with latest most home run

This gave the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead, but Guerrero Jr.’s home run also took over sole possession of first for most home runs by a Blue Jay in postseason history. Guerrero Jr.’s home run also happened to be the first extra-base hit he’s hit in the World Series.

Before this blast, Guerrero was tied with José Bautista and Joe Carter for most home runs in Blue Jays’ postseason history. Those two players have hit two massive home runs in Blue Jays’ history. Carter walked off the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1993 World Series, and Bautista hit the bat-flip home run in 2015.

Guerrero Jr.’s first postseason home run came in the 2025 postseason, hitting a solo home run in Game 1 of the American League Divisional Series. Guerrero Jr.’s biggest postseason home run came in Game 2, blasting a grand slam en route to the second consecutive Blue Jays win. Guerrero Jr. also hit a home run in Game 3, the Blue Jays’ first loss of the postseason.

After three quiet games where he had just one hit in Game 4 of the ALDS and Games 1 and 2 of the American League Championship Series, Guerrero Jr. hit his fourth home run of the season in Game 3 of the ALCS. He then hit another one in Game 4 of the ALCS, as well as Game 6.

Coming into Tuesday’s Game 4, Guerrero Jr. had five hits in 15 plate appearances, but all five of his hits were singles.
