Watch Blake Snell, Dodgers get huge ‘Kobe’ surprise

Things are looking great once again for Blake Snell and the Los Angeles Dodgers. After a slump that saw the reigning World Series champions lose eight of nine games, they are back to their winning ways, having won the first two games of their ongoing series at Dodger Stadium against the visiting Kansas City Royals.

Adding to the fun the Dodgers are having were the surprise gifts the players got recently.

On Wednesday, Los Angeles shared a video showing Snell and other Dodgers players receiving some new kicks, the Kobe 5 Protro and Air Force 1 Protro.

Speaking of Snell, he made a triumphant return from a long absence due to injury during his start on Tuesday versus the Royals. Snell, who missed three months of action in the big leagues to recover from elbow surgery, pitched in that contest for six frames, allowing just an earned run on three hits with a walk, while recording a total of 10 strikeouts in a 5-4 Dodgers victory.

On the season, the two-time Cy Young Award winner Snell has a 0-1 record with a 5.00 ERA through just nine innings (and two starts). He should be fine going forward, as the Dodgers welcome the return of one of their best assets.

The return of Snell to the mound is surely a welcome sight for the Dodgers, who are looking to keep a big lead atop the National League West standings. They will enter Wednesday’s series finale against Kansas City with a 72-48 record — eight games better than all of their rivals in the division.
