Miami Marlins pitcher Richard Bleier committed not one, not two but three balks during his relief appearance on Tuesday night against the New York Mets.
The three balks all came in the same inning. They came in one same single at-bat too, etching Bleier's name into the MLB record books.
Last night, Marlins pitcher Richard Bleier became the 7th pitcher to ever balk 3 times in the same inning and the first since Jim Gott did it in 1988, also against the Mets.

With All-Star slugger Pete Alonso at the plate, and fellow All-Star Jeff McNeil on first base with two out, the balk parade began. After the third and final miscue, McNeil crossed home plate to cut the Mets deficit to 6-4.

"Words cannot describe what happened in that inning on my end," Bleier said, per an ESPN report. "I don't know. It was wild."
Coincidentally, the southpaw entered Tuesday without a single balk called against him in his 303 career big league appearances. In 51 games covering 47 1/3 innings this season, Bleier is 2-2 with a 3.61 ERA and 1.47 WHIP with 29 strikeouts.
