The Philadelphia Phillies are continuing their march up the National League Wild-Card standings. They will look to complete a sweep over the San Diego Padres at Citizens Bank Park after their 3-2 victory.
Philadelphia grabbed the initial lead in a gritty pitcher’s duel through an RBI double from Adolis Garcia. San Diego leveled the game in the sixth inning as Cristopher Sanchez saw his scoreless streak finally come to an end. But solo home runs from J.T. Realmuto and Kyle Schwarber pulled the Phillies in front for good, even though the Padres added a run to their tally in the eighth.
The first pitch for the Padres vs. Phillies Game 3 is scheduled to go out at 1:40 pm ET.

Here’s how to watch Thursday afternoon’s game:
Lucas Giolito makes his fourth appearance of the season after joining the San Diego Padres on a one-year deal at the end of April. He endured a rough outing last week after making a solid start with his new team. Giolito allowed seven earned runs over 12.2 innings with only six strikeouts.
For the Philadelphia Phillies, Zack Wheeler will be on the mound for his eighth start of the year. But he allowed four earned runs in his last outing for his first loss of the campaign. Still, Wheeler has a 2.27 ERA over 43.2 innings with 40 strikeouts and 0.847 WHIP.
The Phillies carry tremendous momentum with 20 wins from the last 30 games. On the other hand, the Padres have eight defeats in the last 10 games. Philadelphia also holds the edge in the pitching matchup, so they stand a very good chance of sweeping San Diego at home.
