Which Atlanta Braves will be non-tendered?

Friday, November 21st is the deadline for teams to tender arbitration-eligible players a contract. Any player who is not tendered a deal will immediately become a free agent.

The Braves currently have eight arbitration-eligible players after waiving both Jarred Kelenic and Jake Fraley earlier this offseason. Here are their projected arbitration salaries, according to MLB Trade Rumors.

Braves 2026 Arbitration Estimates

The Braves have already signaled this offseason that they plan to completely overhaul their bullpen. That likely means Joel Payamps and José Suarez will not be tendered a contract. Dylan Lee, on the other hand, is almost certain to be retained at a near-$2 million price tag. That’s pennies for what he’s provided the club over the last several years.

A case could be made for or against the rest. Alek Manoah was claimed toward the end of the season after being waived by the Blue Jays. He’s a former frontline starter who has run into some tough times. It would seem the Braves would like to see if he has anything left in the tank, but there’s no guarantee they’ll want to spend $2.2 million on a lottery ticket.

Eli White, Joey Wentz, and Nick Allen each did some good things for the club this season, but all three could be replaced with potentially better options rather easily. Of the group, Nick Allen seems the most likely to stick. The Braves still don’t have an answer at shortstop, and at worst, he’s an elite defensive replacement at a very palatable price.

Predictions

Because the Braves already declined the options on Tyler Kinley and Pierce Johnson — two relievers who had really good track records with the club — it seems they aren’t going to be hesitant to trim the fat this offseason. That’s not great news for a lot of these guys, but I predict they will tender contracts to Dylan Lee, Alek Manoah, and Nick Allen.
