White Sox All-Star SP Lance Lynn to make season debut Monday

The Chicago White Sox lost in extra innings for the second time in as many days on Sunday. After fans made their feelings regarding Hall of Fame manager Tony La Russa obvious during Saturday's setback, Sunday's defeat will likely only make the situation worse.

The White Sox are now 27-31, in third place in the AL Central and sit six games behind the division-leading Minnesota Twins. The team has had an eruption of injuries to deal with all season long to star hitters like Tim Anderson, Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert and Andrew Vaughn. They've also been missing starting pitcher Lance Lynn since Opening Day.

Lynn will at last be making his 2022 debut on Monday.

The 35-year-old has been out with a knee injury all spring long, but should provide another solid arm in the rotation that already includes one-time All-Star Lucas Giolito, veteran two-time All-Star Johnny Cueto and up-and-comers Michael Kopech and Dylan Cease. Lynn earned his second All-Star nod in 2021 and finished third in the AL Cy Young voting after going 11-6 with a career-low 2.69 ERA and 1.07 WHIP to go with 176 strikeouts in 157 innings pitched.
