The Chicago White Sox have improved since last season, but that's only because they had one of the worst campaigns in MLB history. They finished 41-121 (.253) in 2024 and came into Tuesday's bout with the Kansas City Royals 48-83 (.366).

One of the White Sox's many problems last year was the availability of outfielder Luis Robert Jr.. The veteran played just 100 games after playing 145 in 2023, when he made the All-Star team and won the Silver Slugger Award.

Robert has had better luck this season, as Tuesday was his 110th outing with five weeks left. However, the 28-year-old exited the game early with an injury.

Chicago later provided an update via its social media.

"Luis Robert Jr. left tonight’s game with soreness in his left hamstring," the team announced. "He will undergo further evaluation."

Robert grounded out to shortstop in the second inning before getting subbed out in the fourth. The 6-foot-2-inch, 225-pounder came into the contest slashing .223/.298/.365 with 14 homers and 53 RBI on the season.

Robert played fewer than 100 games in each of his first three campaigns before breaking out in 2023. He slashed .264/.315/.542 with 38 homers and 80 RBI, setting career-highs in almost every major category.

The White Sox came into Tuesday on a three-game winning streak, and won by a combined score of 15-0 on Sunday and Monday. They were also 4-6 in their previous 10 contests.

Up next for Chicago is one more game against Kansas City on Wednesday before hosting the New York Yankees.
