The White Sox are one of the feel-good stories of the 2026 season. After being an embarrassment to the sport a year ago, they’ve burst out to a respectable 34-31 start and sit just 1.5 games back of the Guardians for first place in the AL Central.
Adding even more intrigue, Chicago is calling up one of the best prospects in the game — Braden Montgomery — ahead of their series with the Braves.

Montgomery was Chicago’s first-round pick a couple of years ago and has done nothing but mash since entering the professional ranks. In 56 games this season between Double-A and Triple-A, he’s hitting .314 with 10 home runs and a .970 OPS.
He’ll be joining a White Sox offense that has been among the best in baseball through 65 games, ranking fourth in team OPS and ninth in runs scored.
Where Chicago has struggled to find consistency is on the pitching side — and Tuesday night presents a prime opportunity for the Braves to take advantage. Erick Fedde gets the ball for the White Sox, and his history against Atlanta is nothing short of brutal. In 12 career appearances against the Braves, Fedde is 0-6 with a 9.59 ERA, and Atlanta has posted a 1.059 OPS against him.
With Grant Holmes toeing the rubber for the Braves, tonight’s game has the makings of a high-scoring affair.
