Sitting just three games above .500 and seven games back of first place in the National League Central, 2026 has been fairly disappointing so far for Chicago Cubs fans. But star center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong gave them something to celebrate after hitting for the cycle to help the Cubs defeat the Colorado Rockies 5-4.
PCA got things started with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first and finished off the MLB’s first cycle of 2026 with his single in the seventh. For good measure, he added a crucial sacrifice fly in the eighth inning after the Cubs bullpen surrendered three runs in the top half of the frame.
It was an all-around exciting night for anyone at Wrigley Field as Chicago went on to win in walk-off fashion thanks to Matt Shaw drawing a base-on-balls from Seth Halvorsen.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Crow-Armstrong became the 13th Cub to hit for the cycle, but just the first center fielder since Hack Wilson in 1930. With that being said, can you name the most recent player to hit for the cycle for each MLB franchise?
Good luck!
