Before Saturday's game against the Kansas City Royals, the Chicago White Sox made a pair of roster moves involving bullpen pitchers. With Jordan Leasure going on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to July 17), the Sox recalled Sammy Peralta from Triple-A Charlotte.

Acquired in the trade that sent Lance Lynn and Joe Kelly to the Los Angeles Dodgers last summer, Leasure has struggled to the tune of a 6.32 ERA in his rookie season. The right-hander has split time between the White Sox and Triple-A Charlotte as he strives to improve on his 5.2 BB/9. Now dealing with a right shoulder impingement, Leasure will be on the shelf for the foreseeable future.

Peralta has spent most of the 2024 campaign in the minors as he began the season with the Tacoma Rainiers, the Seattle Mariners' Triple-A affiliate. In 29.1 innings split between Tacoma and Charlotte, Peralta owns a 4.60 ERA and 1.227 WHIP with 29 strikeouts against 16 walks. In 20.1 innings of MLB experience between 2023 and 2024, the southpaw has a 4.43 ERA and 1.574 WHIP.

The White Sox are back in action Saturday when they visit the Royals for the second contest of a three-game set. First pitch is at 6:10 PM CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
