This transaction sees the 30-year-old backstop heading west in exchange for cash considerations, signaling the end of Robinson's relatively brief tenure with the Sox.

Robinson, who had a .129 batting average and 20 strikeouts over 76 plate appearances in 2024, failed to make a significant impact in his 26 big-league games with the White Sox but served as a depth piece behind Korey Lee for the second half of the 2024 season. With the recent acquisition of backstop Matt Thaiss and multiple catching prospects in the system awaiting their Major League debuts, Robinson quickly became the odd man out on Chicago's rather crowded catching depth chart.

The trade also opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for newly signed pitcher Bryse Wilson.
