The Chicago White Sox made their first significant move of the 2024 MLB trade deadline by unloading two right-handed pitchers and an outfielder in a three-team deal. Per Ken Rosenthal and Katie Woo of The Athletic , the White Sox are sending starter Erick Fedde to the St. Louis Cardinals, who are shipping infielder Tommy Edman to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fansided's Robert Murray adds that the Sox are also trading Tommy Pham to St. Louis. Also part of the deal, the White Sox are trading reliever Michael Kopech to the Dodgers, per Murray and Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

Dodgers receive IF Tommy Edman and reliever Michael Kopech.
Cardinals receive: Starter Erick Fedde and outfielder Tommy Pham.
White Sox receive: IF Miguel Vargas and prospects Alexander Abertus and Jaral Perez and…
That's a lot of moving parts. The White Sox were expected to trade Erick Fedde, Michael Kopech, and Tommy Pham, and general manager Chris Getz managed to do so in one fell swoop.
Fedde has enjoyed a strong return to MLB after spending a year in Korea, posting a 3.11 ERA in 121.2 innings across 21 starts this season. He'll bolster the Cardinals' rotation while Tommy Pham reunites with the team that drafted him. Pham is slashing .266/.330/.380 with five home runs and 19 RBIs in 297 plate appearances this season.
Kopech has struggled after being thrust into the White Sox' closer role, but his velocity and strikeout ability offer intrigue to a Dodgers team that can deploy him differently. The right-hander owns a 4.74 ERA and 12.2 K/9 across 43.2 innings this season.
Miguel Vargas is the only near-MLB-ready piece coming to Chicago as part of the three-team trade. The 24-year-old is slashing .239/.313/.423 with three home runs and nine RBIs in 80 appearances through 30 big-league games played this season. He's also logged 191 plate appearances in Triple-A, where he's slashing .290/.440/.566 with eight home runs and 38 RBIs this season.
Alexander Albertus, a 19-year-old infielder, was the No. 23 prospect in the Dodgers' system, per MLB Pipeline. Albertus is slashing .298/.420/409 with three home runs and 42 RBIs across 225 plate appearances split between the Arizona Complex League and Single-A this season.
Jeral Perez, a 19-year-old second baseman, was the No. 17 prospect in the Dodgers' system, per MLB Pipeline. Perez owns a .264/.380/.420 slash line with 10 home runs and 42 RBIs in 350 plate appearances for the Dodgers' Single-A affiliate this season.
The White Sox still have several players who could be on the move before Tuesday's 5 PM CT trade deadline. Garrett Crochet's contract demands have complicated a potential trade, but he's drawing interest as one of the top starting pitchers available on the market. Luis Robert Jr. could be a game-changer for a contending club, though Chris Getz's asking price will likely be extremely high. Furthermore, relievers Tanner Banks and John Brebbia could bolster any contender's bullpen.
