The Chicago White Sox made another deal ahead of the 2024 MLB trade deadline by sending infielder Paul DeJong to the Kansas City Royals, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, in exchange for minor-league pitcher Jarold Rosado, per Daryl Van Schouwen of The Chicago Sun-Times.

DeJong joined the White Sox in the offseason and enjoyed a power uptick during his time on the South Side. The veteran slashed .228/.275/.430 with a team-leading 18 home runs across 363 plate appearances for the Sox.
It's an interesting situation for DeJong as the White Sox and Royals are currently amid a three-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field. After going 1-for-3 with an RBI for the White Sox on Monday, the soon-to-be 31-year-old will switch dugouts for the remainder of the series, pending a physical.
Jarold Rosado, a 22-year-old right-handed reliever, was unranked among the Royals' top 30 prospects, per MLB Pipeline. The 6-foot-3 hurler owns a 1.85 ERA and 11.08 K/9 across 39 innings for Single-A Columbia this season. Rosado will report to Single-A Kannapolis upon joining the White Sox organization.
