White Sox vs Phillies: Despite Munetaka Murakami’s absence , the Chicago White Sox are still winning games. Their 33-29 record is better than the entire AL West teams. It’s safe to say that the White Sox are now a strong competitor in the AL Central.

The Philadelphia Phillies had a miserable start to this season. After firing Rob Thompson, they seem to be doing a better job. The club is back in the second spot in the NL East, but the Atlanta Braves are far ahead.

The Phillies need to do more if they want to win the World Series. As for the White Sox, making the playoffs itself will be an outstanding achievement.

White Sox vs. Phillies Starting Pitchers

The White Sox will send Anthony Kay to the mound as their starter for Game 1. Kay has a 5-1 record with a 3.77 ERA. He’s been a great performer for the team despite the few hiccups. Kay will need some extra support at the plate against the Phillies.

Jesus Luzardo will take the nod for the Phillies in Game 1. The southpaw holds a 4.30 ERA with a 4-4 record. Luzardo has experienced a bit of struggle against several hitters. The Phillies must not take the White Sox lightly in this series.

Both teams are fighting to retain their positions in their respective divisions. The White Sox are just two games behind the Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central and are seven games ahead of the Minnesota Twins.
