The Milwaukee Brewers are one win away from completing a sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS, and Shane Drohan will get the ball as they look to finish the job.
Milwaukee leads the series 3-0 and has a chance to do to Los Angeles what the Dodgers did to the Brewers in the 2025 NLCS. The stakes are even bigger this time, with Milwaukee now just one win away from its first National League pennant and five victories from its first World Series title.
Drohan is expected to start Game 4, though the Brewers could approach the matchup as a bullpen game. That would give manager Pat Murphy flexibility to use his available arms based on the Dodgers’ lineup and the matchups he wants to create throughout the game.
Milwaukee’s pitching depth has been a major advantage during this postseason, and Murphy can lean on that strength as the Brewers attempt to close out the series. Rather than asking one starter to work deep into the game, he can turn to different relievers when the situation calls for it.
Drohan has the ability to give Milwaukee five innings, but how long Murphy allows him to pitch remains a key question. If the left-hander is effective, the Brewers could let him work through the Dodgers’ lineup. If not, the bullpen will be ready to take over.
The Brewers are in an ideal position, but they still need one more win to finish the job. With a chance to eliminate the defending champions and punch their ticket to the World Series, Milwaukee will look to Drohan and its deep pitching staff to deliver.
