Will Benson has been hotter than the surface of the sun for the Cincinnati Reds. It’s not all just good luck, either.

Benson has had the best quality of contact to go with his actual amazing performances. He is hitting the ball literally perfectly, averaging 94.9 MPH of exit velocity. That is 0.1 MPH under the threshold for a hard hit ball.

He’s also got a slightly better than average bat speed for hit typical swing. At 72.8 MPH, he is is just above league average of 71.6 and his fast swing rate of 24.1% is above the league average, as well.

It’s far too early for him to qualify among the league leaders in any of those categories, but this has been an all around good start to Benson’s MLB season.
