The Major League Baseball season still is delayed thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, but that's not stopping the New York Yankees from hosting some pretty cool events at their home ballpark in the Bronx.
The parking lot outside Yankee Stadium will be converted into a drive-in movie theater this summer, according to Sports Illustrated's Max Goodman, as part of the "Uptown Drive-In Experience."
On top of showing movies, there will be live concerts, and car-side dinner services as well as interactive games, giveaways and raffles, Goodman adds.
The incredible opportunity is being put on by the MASC Hospitality Group, a New York-based company that also puts on the Bronx Beer Festival. Opportunities will go on throughout the day on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and include date-night experiences, family-friendly activities and much more.
It doesn't seem likely that games will be played at Yankee Stadium this summer, but MLB is working towards a shortened 82-game schedule with its players' association. However, players have voiced safety and pay concerns in a return to baseball, so there is still a likely time gap before players return to the field. Unless, of course, significant progress is made on a plan.
