New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge overcame his postseason struggles in 2025, collecting 13 hits, one home run and seven RBIs in just 26 at-bats. Unfortunately, his efforts did not translate to teamwide success, as the Yankees fell to the Toronto Blue Jays in four games in the ALDS.

Despite the disappointing end to his tenth season in the big leagues, Judge continued to establish himself as the league’s most formidable hitter. The 33-year-old veteran led all hitters in nearly every major offensive category, including batting average (.331), on-base percentage (.457) and OPS (1.144). While primarily known for his power, Judge proved he can reach base by any means necessary, capturing the first batting title of his career.

Judge’s incredible season was recognized on Friday by Louisville Slugger. He had previously been named a finalist in October for the Silver Slugger Award alongside five other American League outfielders, and on Friday, he emerged victorious.

The Yankees shared Judge’s achievement on social media, congratulating the franchise’s captain and best player. “Congratulations to @TheJudge44 on his fifth Silver Slugger Award! ,” the team wrote on X.

This marks the fifth Silver Slugger Award of Judge’s career and his second in a row. It comes as no surprise, given that Judge is also a frontrunner for the AL MVP Award, with Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh seen as his primary competition. Judge’s dominance at the plate, combined with his leadership and consistency, made him a clear choice for the honor.

Judge appeared in 152 games despite battling a right elbow flexor strain that lingered throughout the summer. The injury required careful management and limited his effectiveness in the outfield, but Judge remained in the lineup and continued to anchor a Yankees offense that operated as the best in MLB.

As Judge continues to collect individual accolades, he is well on his way to building a Hall of Fame-worthy career. However, pressure is mounting for him to deliver a World Series title in the Bronx to solidify his legacy.

The Yankees reached the Fall Classic in 2024 but fell short, and with Judge now in his mid-30s, the window to win with him as the focal point is narrowing. The front office faces a pivotal offseason as it looks to build a championship-caliber roster around its captain.
