The New York Yankees are not having a great few games lately, but they managed to prevent getting swept by the Texas Rangers with a final score of 3-2. The team currently stands at third with a 61-54 record.
The main man behind that win against the Rangers was Paul Goldschmidt. He gave the Yankees a pinch-hit solo home run in the seventh inning, which helped the cause.
And that was not the only Goldschmidt news on Wednesday. The Yankees also announced him as the winner of the team's nomination for the Heart and Hustle Award.
"Congratulations to Paul Goldschmidt on being named our 2025 @MLBPAA Heart & Hustle Award Winner " They posted on X along with a collage of the seven-time All-Star.
"I'm getting a lot more practice this year, pinch-hitting. But just be ready. And I just think of it kind of like my first step out of the game and not try to think too much about it." Goldschmidt said to Meredith Marakovits of Yes Network.

"Just be ready to go. And I got down, and I got down 0-2. And fortunately, I was able to get a pitch up and get out of there," he added.
Through 108 games in 2025, Goldschmidt has compiled 385 at-bats with a .281 batting average, recording 108 hits and scoring 63 runs. He’s hit 10 home runs, driven in 40 runs and swiped five bases. It's clear why he was nominated for the award.
