The New York Yankees had a disappointing end to their series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Even Cam Schlittler and Carlos Rodon were unable to help them in the last two games. The Yanks are still trailing the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East.

The Bronx Bombers will now remain at home to host the Rays in an important three-game series. Winning this series will be crucial for the Yanks to get back on top of the division. However, they have to make significant roster changes.

The Yankees called up Spencer Jones, but sent him back to Triple-A. Fans believe that the team failed to give Jones enough time to prove himself. Along with Jones, Yovanny Cruz will be sent to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as well.

It’s a tough shot for Spencer Jones to be demoted so quickly. However, there’s good news for the Yanks.

Yankees Gerrit Cole To Make Pitching Debut Against The Rays

The time has arrived for the ace to return after staying out for more than a year. Gerrit Cole is ready to make his 2026 debut for the team. The fan-favorite has recovered well from surgery and will pitch against the Rays in Game 1.

Another piece of good news is that Jose Caballero will most likely return to the Yankees lineup. That said, Anthony Volpe’s position remains questionable. One thing clear is that fans want Caballero to return.

Despite Volpe trying to do his best, they want Caballero to stay on the field. Volpe’s struggles from last season have left a bad impression on fans. Cole is stepping in for the team at the right time since Max Fried is sidelined.

The Yankees are preparing for a strong postseason, and the good news is that their injured players are getting back to form. Luis Gil’s return remains questionable for now. Despite that, they have a solid starting rotation that has performed incredibly well.
