The New York Yankees had a medical emergency in Tampa on Wednesday as pitching prospect Eric Reyzelman had to be taken to the hospital.
According to Greg Joyce of the New York Post, Reyzelman suffered a severe allergic reaction and had to be taken to the nearby St. Joseph's Hospital. He wound up staying the night for observation but is in stable condition, per the team's spokesman.
Reyzelman is a non-roster invite who is coming off a superb year in Double-A where he had a dazzling 1.93 ERA and 37 strikeouts in just over 23 innings.
The team will reportedly have an update on the 23-year-old pitching prospect sometime later today.

Users on social media have been offering their thoughts and prayers to Reyzelman ever since word of his hospitalization broke:
"So relieved to hear that he's in stable condition now. Wishing him a swift and smooth recovery!" one user wrote.
"Anaphylaxis is scary. Happened to me once. Was hospitalized. Hope he's OK."
"Hopefully hes ok. He was dominant at AA last season, We could see him up at some point this season," wrote a third.
"Awful. Glad he’s ok. Super high on Reyzelman."
Yankees fans have had very high expectations for Reyzelman, with some projecting that he may very well be the best right handed pitching prospect that they have right now. For a team that is always in need of newer and better pitchers, he could be invaluable to the reigning American League champions.
The Yankees' 2024 season saw them reach the World Series for the first time in 15 years, only to be trounced by Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers, falling into a 3-0 hole and ultimately losing the series in just five games.
And with star slugger Juan Soto having taken the subway to the New York Mets while the Dodgers just keep getting better, there's plenty of reason to believe that the Yankees might have seen their World Series window shut.
Get well soon, Eric.
