Yankees Top 30 Prospect Additions And Re-positions

The New York Yankees top 30 prospect list has shuffled a bit over the last few weeks. Between the Major League Baseball draft and the trade deadline, various prospects were moved in and out, up and down. 

The Yankees shipped various prospects off in trades and acquired a few in return. The team’s eighth ranked prospect Rafael Flores and 14th-ranked prospect Edgleen Perez were shipped to the Pittsburgh Pirates for closer David Bednar. 

They also sent prospects to San Francisco in return for Camilo Doval; four prospects were involved in this trade. The Yankees also signed 18 of their 19 draft picks in 2025. This added to the farm system depth.

Yankees 2025 Draft Prospect Selections Make Their Way to the Top 30 Prospect List

It’s without a doubt that the Bronx Bombers first round draft pick in 2025 will make the prospect ranking. Dax Kilby has moved into the eighth spot of the Yankees top 30 prospect list. He sits under pitcher Ben Hess and above pitcher Chase Hampton. 

Kilby is a huge offensive step in the right direction for the club. His ability at shortstop is also one that was needed in the farm system depth. In addition, from this year’s draft is Yankees third round pick, Kaeden Kent. 

Kent is another shortstop prospect, batting from the right side. He’s another ranked draft pick, and a solid option for the club’s grassroots development. Kent is ranked 13th on the top prospect list. 

Two spots below him is the club’s fourth round selection, left-handed pitcher Pico Kohn. The southpaw was selected 134th overall, maintaining a profile that’s above baseline, and can be developed. 

His current tool-set and projectability on the mound is where he fits into this list. Kohn is ranked 15th on the list. 

Notable Shuffles in the Farm System

George Lombard Jr still naturally holds the top spot in the Yankees prospect rankings. Right below him, moving into number two is right-handed pitcher Carlos Lagrange. 

Lagrange was signed as an international free agent in February 2022 out of the Dominican Republic. Why’s he number two? He’s a sharpshooter right-hander with four workable pitch options and lights up the radar gun. 

Lagrange is easily one of the most anticipated arms to unveil from the Yankees farm system. His estimated arrival to the show is within the next year.  Right below him is another fashionable arm who’s produced quite the year for himself.

Cam Schlittler has been noticeable within various levels of the minor leagues, holding a 2.82 total ERA in 76 and 2 / 3 innings of work.  The right hander is intriguing off the bump and is the club’s second ranked pitching prospect.
