Zac Gallen makes Diamondbacks franchise history on Monday against Giants

Zac Gallen was able to get his 1,000th strikeout as a member of the Diamondbacks when he struck out Willy Adames looking in the top of the first inning at Chase Field on Monday night against the San Francisco Giants. Gallen not only makes franchise history for the D-Backs, but he also joins an exclusive list as he is now only the third member joining Randy Johnson and Brandon Webb.

It has been an eventful and rollercoaster-type season for Gallen, as it has included sporadic up and down spurts where he has looked like the Cy Young candidate back in 2023, then has also pitched completely abysmally at times. His performance for the D-Backs hurt his trade stock incredibly. Gallen, who was once one of the top pitchers in trade rumors, completely fell out of the conversation once his struggles were very apparent. Gallen has had a resurgence as of late, though, and has been finding his command as of late, right when the D-Backs need it.
