2.9 million-follower influencer challenges Joe Rogan to grappling match: ‘I’m gonna make you pay’

Liver King, who has previously attended UFC events and shown interest in the sport, made his intentions clear in a recent Instagram post. He claimed he wouldn’t even prepare for the bout and warned Rogan he’d “make him pay.”

“What I’m hoping is that you, Joe Rogan, are thinking ‘I’m gonna choke that motherf***er out, lights out, I’m gonna choke him out,’” he began.

“And I kind of hope that if you win, that’s how it happens. Anything else you can break on me, break it on me. You won’t feel me tap – that’s never happening, tapping.”

He continued, “I have something to actually fight for – my family. What do you have to fight for? I hope you’re mad. You’ve got a black belt in jiu-jitsu. I hope you choke me out. And if you don’t choke me out, these other limbs will be interesting.”

Where could Liver King and Rogan’s rivalry come from?

Away from the gym, Liver King’s path to fame began online. He first grabbed attention by claiming his shredded physique was all natural – even though many fans and experts suspected otherwise. Now, he has 2.9m followers on Instagram.

The story unravelled when PED use was eventually confirmed. Rogan, never one to shy away from controversy, took a shot at him during one of his podcast episodes.

“Yeah, I’m on testosterone, unlike the Liver King. I’ll tell you the truth,” Rogan said at the time.

Liver King’s challenge may have come out of the blue, but he’s not backing down. Now all eyes are on Rogan to see how – or if – he’ll respond.
