Despite Brock Lesnar’s UFC run being short and brief, it was impossible to ignore. In just eight fights, he went from a complete MMA novice to becoming a heavyweight champion. He headlined some of the biggest pay-per-views in promotion’s history. However, he left a legacy that sparked debate. As Lesnar recently walked away from WWE forever, here are five UFC fights worth taking a look back at.

1) Frank Mir vs. Brock Lesnar (2008)

Lesnar made his debut in the Octagon against Frank Mir. Even though it was his first fight in the promotion, he showcased his immense talent and raw power, dominating Mir early. Unfortunately, he got caught in a kneebar and was forced to tap. The fight taught Lesner that technique rules over raw strength in MMA.

2) Brock Lesnar vs. Heath Herring (2008)

Lesner bounced back almost instantly as he fought against Heath Herring. He controlled the pace of the fight with multiple takedowns and asserted excellent ground pressure. He even landed a memorable flying knee. Lesnar emerged victorious via unanimous decision and proved his mettle in the world of MMA.

3) Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar (2008)

Just after his first victory, Lesnar challenged Randy Couture, a heavyweight legend. Couture was the heavyweight champion back then, and many fans and analysts believed it was a silly mistake. However, despite being an underdog, Lesnar used his size to his advantage and knocked out Couture. He became one of the fastest fighters ever to win the UFC championship.

4) Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir (2009)

Lesnar and Mir had a rematch the following year. This time, it was personal and massive. Headlining the historic UFC 100 event, Lesnar entered the ring with the intention of getting his revenge. The WWE icon did just that, dominating the fight from start to finish and winning via TKO.

5) Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez (2010)

Lesnar’s reign of terror ended during his fight against Cain Velasquez, who overwhelmed Brock Lesnar with his striking. The loss marked the beginning of the end of his dominance in Dana White’s promotion. It also depicted the evolution of the heavyweight division.

Lesnar finished his UFC career with a record of 5-3-1. However, numbers don’t do justice to what he brought to the table. He was the reason why many people started watching MMA for the first time. ‘The Beast Incarnate’ headlined multiple events and delivered an unforgettable run.
