Alex Pereira is rumored to be continuing his heavyweight run against a game opponent and power puncher, Sergei Pavlovich.
Though we don’t know for sure as of this writing whether or not it will be Pavlovich, or even at heavyweight, there have been plenty of rumblings online that the Russian will welcome Pereira into his second fight at that weight class.
Dana has said he’ll formally announce Pereira’s next opponent at UFC 332 tomorrow evening.
Lets assume that the Pavlovich fight is the one to be made, considering Gane is taking on Hokit next, and the Russian power puncher would make for a fun and compelling matchup, making sense rankings wise.
This fight will end in a finish, but it won’t be first round.
Sure it’s heavyweight so anything can happen, but I can see a similarly strategic and systematic performance from the Brazilian as Volkov had against the Russian. Pavlovich actually has a longer reach by 5 inches, so that could fair well for his boxing, but Pereira’s tool box should be too deep for him to deal with.
Pavlovich is coming off a three win streak and Pereira is coming off a TKO loss, leaving a lot of questions about where his chin will be, hence why this could be precarious for him as well.

However, the high level striking, distance, and movement with Pereira’s kick boxing should prove to be too much, getting him a 3rd round stoppage.
