Alexander Volkanovski, the UFC Featherweight Champion, will star in a new Street Fighter movie.
Reports indicate that the project will hit the movie screens on October 16, 2026. Volk will portray Joe, who is described as a former US Kickboxing Champion. The film is the third adaptation of the game franchise, this time overseen by filmmaker Kitao Sakurai. The movie will include numerous stars such as WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as Guile, Roman Reigns as Akuma, and Jason Momoa as Blanka.
Volk made his name as one of the best UFC fighters ever. He recently lost his featherweight belt after being knocked out by Ilia Topuria at UFC 298. However, he bounced back by beating Diego Lopes at UFC 314 to reclaim the belt which became vacant once Topuria vacated. Now, he is focused on a career outside of the UFC.
“Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury.
