MIAMI — Even at age 50, Anderson Silva still carries the kind of power that ends fights quickly and on Friday night, he reminded the world of it. Silva needed less than two rounds to stop former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, earning a TKO at 1:33 of Round 2 on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua event at the Kaseya Center.
With the victory, Silva improves to 4-2 in boxing, while Woodley falls to 0-3 in his professional boxing career.

Silva’s finishing sequence came with startling ease.
Midway through Round 2, the former UFC middleweight champion slid into range and uncorked a powerful uppercut punctuated with a trademark toe tap that blasted through Woodley’s guard and left him badly rocked.
As Woodley stumbled, Silva followed with a short barrage of punches that dropped him to all fours. The former MMA champion beat the referee’s count, but when the official signaled for the fight to resume, Woodley didn’t advance forward.
The referee immediately waved it off.
After the stoppage, Silva issued a message to the fighter he was originally scheduled to face. Silva called for a matchup with Chris Weidman, his longtime UFC rival and the opponent he was meant to box before Weidman withdrew due to injury.
Silva also revealed he is beginning the process of becoming a police officer, describing it as a way to give back to the United States.
Despite that new pursuit, Silva said he is not ruling out another boxing match.
Woodley, 43, entered the fight hoping to breathe new life into the final chapter of his career. Instead, he suffered a third straight boxing defeat after previous losses to Jake Paul. Silva, meanwhile, continues to defy age and expectations, adding another emphatic knockout to a storied combat sports resume.
