Arman Tsarukyan claims he’ll fight for a UFC belt this summer

Arman Tsarukyan has reignited his title ambitions with a bold claim after his latest wrestling fight.

The lightweight contender has beaten Georgio Poullas at RAF07 on Saturday night.

In the UFC, Tsarukyan is riding a five-fight winning run and sits as the number two contender in the division.

Despite that, he has not received a title shot since withdrawing late from his scheduled bout with Islam Makhachev at UFC 311, as that situation strained his relationship with the promotion.

Tsarukyan made his intentions clear while speaking with The Schmo after RAF 07.

“This summer I’ll fight for sure for the belt, any belt, whether it’s the BMF or a real belt,” he said.

The confidence in his words left many fans surprised, as he has not relied on Dana White’s good will recently.

Still, over four months after beating Dan Hooker, Tsarukyan believes he is next in line for a major fight.

Arman Tsarukyan’s limited paths to a title opportunity

The lightweight title picture is already in motion.

Ilia Topuria is set to face Justin Gaethje on June 14 in a unification bout, making a quick turnaround after the White House card unlikely.

That leaves ‘Ahalkalakets’ exploring alternatives.

A rematch with Charles Oliveira for the BMF belt seems like his best option right now. The 29-year-old has beaten ‘Do Bronx’ in their 2024 fight.

Another is moving to featherweight to challenge Alexander Volkanovski. However, that division is crowded with contenders like Movsar Evloev and Jean Silva.
