Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas’ bitter feud came to a head tonight on the mat at RAF7 in Tampa.
The top UFC lightweight has been on an epic run of activity – in and out of competition – since his last victory in the octagon. But no match made more headlines than his showdown with influencer Poullas at the end of February, which resulted in a post-match brawl.
And in an awkward exchange at last night’s press conference, the pair’s rivalry became even more heated as Nina Drama and other personal topics were dragged into an ugly scene.
In the main event of RAF Wrestling’s big show at the Yuengling Center, Arman Tsarukyan was given another chance to go at Georgio Poullas. Their first match was an ugly affair, which appeared to be based around the influencer’s efforts to win by DQ alone.
And after the fact, things got violent between the pair as Tsarukyan found mount on the final whistle and blasted Poullas with a punch. It led to a bitter back-and-forth and ultimately a rematch being booked for the very next show by RAF.
Chael Sonnen on commentary noted that once Poullas dropped his efforts to frustrate his rival into a dirty finish, he could actually compete with Tsarukyan. And he showed that as they headed to the break at just 1-0 to the Armenian.
There was a massive break between the first and second period as Poullas had to have his hand taped, much to Tsarukyan’s annoyance. It ended up being a much more tense affair than first time, despite both men being considerably better behaved.
The third round was chaos as Poullas scored a takedown but ultimately lost to a massive four-point move and the score ended up being 9-3. They even ended up embracing after the fact as the feud seemingly came to an end.
