The UFC lightweight star continued his undefeated run away from the Octagon on Saturday night.

In Tampa, Tsarukyan headlined the latest Real American Freestyle event in what marked his third match under that new promotional banner.

After winning their first fight before a brawl broke out, Tsarukyan beat Georgio Poullas in their RAF07 rematch, moving the Armenian MMA star to 3-0 in the organization.

‘Ahalkalakets’ has continually impressed with his grappling talents, and one man who knows a thing or two about wrestling success thinks Tsarukyan would achieve huge things in the sport.

Kurt Angle would back Arman Tsarukyan for Olympic success in wrestling

Tsarukyan’s win concluded an RAF07 card that featured a number of other prominent names. In the co-main event, Colby Covington beat Dillon Danis in a clash of controversial combat sports personalities.

Among the stars in attendance to watch the action unfold was Kurt Angle, a WWE legend and a gold medalist in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Olympic Games.

Speaking on The Schmo’s YouTube channel after the event, the 57-year-old was full of praise for Tsarukyan.

“Arman Tsarukyan is the real deal,” Angle said.

“He could literally go into Olympic wrestling right now and do really well.”

The Armenian was visibly surprised when The Schmo told him about Angle’s claim and jokingly teased that he could ditch MMA for wrestling.

“No way,” Tsarukyan said.

“Maybe I will transition to wrestling, who knows?”

The Armenian quickly clarified that he is not considering a permanent switch to the mats and still has his main focus on becoming a UFC champion inside the cage.

The top lightweight contender is still awaiting an official UFC return date but claims to have been told about his next fight by Hunter Campbell.

Tsarukyan submitted Dan Hooker last time out to further stake his claim for a championship opportunity, but his actions outside of the Octagon seemingly cost him when it came to booking the interim title fight at UFC 324.
