Arman Tsarukyan tried very hard to get on the White House card, but he is currently seen as a backup fighter for Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje. Tsarukyan wanted to face Topuria and pitched the idea of Gaethje getting injured so he could step in. However, the Armenian fighter now believed that an injury alone would not be enough for “The Highlight” to pull out of the White House card.
The number two-ranked lightweight claimed the interim lightweight champion is too financially motivated to withdraw from the White House card against “El Matador.” Tsarukyan said that no matter what happens physically, he expected Gaethje to show up because the payday is simply too big. In a recent talk with Adam Zubayraev, he said:
“Whatever happens with Gaethje, he’ll go out there and just collect his cash, his money, because he’s making big money. Even if he loses, he’ll still take home a good purse.”

Tsarukyan was once in the conversation for a title shot, but because of his behavior, the UFC didn’t allow him to fight. Many MMA stars also suggested that his ultra-luxurious lifestyle contributed to his behavior. But Khamzat Chimaev vowed to humble the 29-year-old.
Khamzat Chimaev playfully trolled Arman Tsarukyan over his flashy, rich-kid image and told him to stay humble. Tsarukyan laughed and said he was broke, but Chimaev quickly replied that money was not everything and joked that they needed to make the Armenian fighter humble. In a video, “Borz” said: “Money is not everything. We need to make him humble.”

The two had become close training partners lately, so this looked more like friendly locker-room banter than serious criticism. Still, fans enjoyed seeing Chimaev clown Tsarukyan’s luxury-car lifestyle once again while both continued preparing for their upcoming competitions.
