After once again being snubbed for the UFC lightweight title shot, Arman Tsarukyan has a plan to get back into Dana White’s good books.

In just over a month’s time at UFC 324, the interim lightweight title will be on the line when Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje clash in the main event.

The announcement came as a shock not only because of the fact that Ilia Topuria will be stepping away from the sport, but also because Arman Tsarukyan won’t be part of the title equation, again.

Since withdrawing from his UFC 311 main event against Islam Makhachev, ‘Ahalkalakets’ has been paying the price and is ultimately in Dana White‘s bad books.

Tsarukyan shares plan to get back into Dana White’s good books

Following the final PPV of 2025, the UFC boss continued to claim that the Armenian has some work to do before he will be considered for a title shot, despite the fact that he took a fight against Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar, winning impressively.

In an attempt to stay active, Tsarukyan has accepted the opportunity to compete in grappling, and he will take on Abdul-Aziz Abdulvakhabov on December 17.

And during the pre-event press conference, Tsarukyan has revealed his plan to get back into White’s good books.

“There will be no rest because I’ll be a back-up fighter, not officially but a back-up for the fight between Paddy and Gaethje.

“If one of them gets injured, I’ll be ready to step in with a week’s notice, 10 days, even five days, I’ll be managing my weight, I won’t cut it all on weigh-in day but if they need me I’ll be there.

“Because of that I have to stay in shape, keep training, sparring and try not to get injured, I still have to give 100% to make fans happy so they come to watch a beautiful, exciting fight, I’ll rest after the Pimblett vs Gaethje fight.

“We have a difficult path ahead of us and we have to be ready at all times.”

Tsarukyan admitted UFC 311 withdrawal was due to weight related issues

Weighing in as a back-up fighter for the UFC 324 main event will not guarantee Tsarukyan a title shot, as several fighters have done the same thing without receiving the next shot.

However, it would likely go a long way in repairing his relationship with White, especially considering the fact that he recently revealed his withdrawal from UFC 311 was weight related.
