Bella Mir steps into the cage for her Dana White's Contender Series debut Tuesday night, meeting Alex Apodaca in a bantamweight main event at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas.
Mir, whose father Frank won the UFC heavyweight title twice, made history as the first collegiate athlete to secure an NIL sponsorship from the UFC. She capped her amateur wrestling career earlier this year by winning the NCAA national championship at 145 pounds, per MMA Fighting. Three of her four professional wins have come by submission.
Apodaca enters on a three-fight winning streak. The bout headlines a five-fight card that streams on Paramount+ starting at 7 p.m. ET.
The co-main event features heavyweights Mario Piazzon and Guilherme Uriel, while the undercard includes Gary Balletto against Sean Clancy Jr., Ronald Humphrey facing Alexis Miranda, and Carlos Petruzzella taking on Nick Galanti.
DWCS serves as the UFC's developmental showcase, with Dana White awarding contracts to standout performers at the end of each card. Mir's combination of elite wrestling credentials and submission skills makes her one of the most anticipated prospects on Season 10.
