Bob Menery disputes Dana White’s claim as he makes massive promise about Johnny Manziel fight

Dana White insists that he has no involvement in the upcoming Bob Menery vs Johnny Manziel fight – but the Boston native says different.

It’s very clear that UFC boss White is keenly interested in Menery’s MMA debut, which takes place on Saturday night as the main event of Adin Ross’ first Brand Risk Promotions event in Las Vegas. He has offered up the Meta Apex to host the show, and even bet $10,000 that Menery would no-show the event.

However, he has claimed that his interest in the event ends outside of that wager, and that Ross has simply rented out the UFC’s venue. In a new post, though, Menery claims that the TKO team will replace the usual Brand Risk setup in putting on the broadcast on Kick.

Bob Menery and Dana White clash on UFC boss’ interest in fight

During the press conference for UFC 328 in Newark, Bloody Elbow asked Dana White if he had any involvement in the upcoming fight between Bob Menery and Johnny Manziel. He claimed to have none, and that it was simply use of a venue.

“I am not involved in that fight,” White stated categorically. “They’re doing it at the Apex, though. They rented out the Apex for that fight.”

In a new Instagram story, however, Menery tells a very different story. He believes that the show’s broadcast will be completely different to the usual chaos of a Ross-streamed event and that it will be put together by White’s team that do UFC, Power Slap and Zuffa Boxing.

“Projected 1.5 million people watching this fight live,” Menery wrote in his latest lofty projection for the show’s success. “Drake in attendance, [Sean] Strickland, Dana [White], Merab [Dvalishvili], James Cook, Dalvin Cook, N3on, Stev, Togi, Max Crosby, so many more.

“For those saying this is a ‘dumb fight’ I can promise you this: Done a pretty good job all around. And it’s Dana’s team: ESPN cameras etc. [White’s team now work with Paramount+, leaving ESPN last year], big lights. Main event. Just sit back and watch the show children.”
