Bob Menery has revealed a strange method he’s using to get in the right headspace for his first MMA fight.

Menery is set to compete in the main event of this Saturday’s Brand Risk Promotions event, taking on former NFL star and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. He is having to pack on weight in order to make the fight happen, and is also engaging in some other strange practices.

No footage at all has emerged of Menery so much as hitting pads, and he appeared to be enjoying himself while at a Power Slap event with Dana White recently. His fight with Manziel will be an amateur MMA bout, with three rounds of three minutes and no elbows allowed.

Bob Menery claims he took up smoking to prepare for fight

Dana White is so sure that Bob Menery won’t fight on Saturday night that he has bet $10,000 on him no-showing the event. This is despite the influencer’s constant insistence and regular promotional posts on social media.

Generally, Adin Ross’ events tend to be particularly top-heavy, but this show is star-studded with a number of intriguing clashes – likely as a result of White’s concern. However, Menery seems very confident that he will show up.

And in one of his latest Instagram story blasts, Menery claimed to have taken up smoking only to quit days out from the fight in order to build an intensity. “Unorthodox training regime,” he wrote. “I started chain smoking cigs for 1 week straight and then cold turkey quit so l’d be more angry.”
